Service / ECU Remapping

Car & LCV ECU Remapping

Before any remapping is carried out on your vehicle we first ensure there are no current engine faults by carrying out a full diagnostic check. We believe that drivability and reliability of your vehicle is as important as the performance so therefore when you chose to tune with West Coast Remaps you can be assured that your vehicle is in safe hands.

Our maps are proven time and time again and are reliable and affective, this makes us so confident in our maps that a 1 year guarantee on any software malfunctions is offered. Not only that, we can also provide a copy of the original manufacturer map so if you at any point want to return the car to its original settings we can reload your original map.

OBD Remapping

We use some of the best tuning equipment available on the market today and this allows us to remap most cars that have an integrated On Board Diagnostic port (OBD). All petrol cars after 2001 and diesel cars after 2003 are fitted with an OBD port, however OBD ports were fitted to many cars before becoming standard. Remapping through the OBD port is one of the most efficient and non-intrusive tuning methods which allows us to produce some truly amazing results without even opening the bonnet.

Bench Tuning

Bench Tuning is a non intrusive method of remapping the internal ECU microprocessor. in order to achieve this in most cases would require the ECU to be removed from the vehicle. We would then proceed to remap the ECU on the bench without the need of opening and achieving the same great results.

BDM and ChipTuning

Remapping a vehicle through its OBD port can’t always be possible for many reasons, the car may not have an OBD port, the port may be faulty or the port may even be ‘tune protected’. But don’t worry we have other methods to produce results. If your vehicle cannot be remapped through the OBD port we can either connect directly to the ECU or replace the chip within the ECU. Connecting direct to the ECU is called BDM (Background Debug Mode) tuning and replacing the internal chip of an ECU is called ‘chip tuning’, in order to carry out either of these processes the ECU has to be removed from the vehicle and tuned in a clean, safe and static free environment.
